I return home with a lot of positive emotions

Summer English School Stafford House Canterbury — language school in the UK

19 New Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent CT1 3AS, UK

The trip was very memorable. Stafford House Canterbury is a very good place to improve your English. Most of all I remember the trip to London. It was very fun and educational. The group leader (Olga Gudyno) showed a high level of her teamwork skills. Throughout the trip, she kept a close eye on us. While several people from the group were sick, she took care of them and supported the immunity of healthy guys (given vitamins). The trip turned out very good and I return home with a lot of positive emotions.

The perfect place to get into the spirit of real English culture

Off-season English School Stafford House Canterbury — language school in the UK

19 New Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent CT1 3AS, UK

Canterbury is a small but incredibly beautiful and very cozy English town with a rich history and centuries-old traditions. In my opinion, it is an ideal place where you can feel the spirit of true English culture, immerse yourself in the English language, distinguishing the accents of the most remote corners of England, and really feel like a real Englishman with a cup of cream tea in the local tearooms, which are located in the buildings of the 16th century. It's impossible not to fall in love with Canterbury at first sight. It's a place that will excite even the most seasoned traveler (which I think I am). Needless to say, the location of Stafford House Canterbury is a real winner compared to all the other summer language schools in the area. Unlike noisy and hectic London and overly conservative and overly touristy Cambridge and Oxford, Canterbury is the best place to send your child to improve their English language skills without worrying about their safety. And the team of highly qualified teachers and activists at Stafford House Language School will help your child to get used to the new surroundings, learn the history of this unique place, put their knowledge into practice and make new friends from all over the world. It is not just a summer school. After spending 3 weeks here you feel part of this big friendly family, where everybody is ready to help you in solving absolutely any problem. I have been lucky enough to work as a group leader at 4 different schools in the UK, but for me personally Stafford House in Canterbury was the clear favourite in terms of the quality and facilities of the summer programme. If you are planning to send your child to study English in the UK, expecting significant progress in their language level, but also expecting their "cultural enrichment", Stafford House Canterbury is the right choice that you won't regret.

The level of care for the child is extremely high

Off-season English School Stafford House Canterbury — language school in the UK

19 New Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent CT1 3AS, UK

The school places students in residences at CATS College International. The group lived in a Victorian mansion at 7/9 Ethelbert Road, Canterbury. During school hours, the doors are locked. The residence is alarmed at night, no entry or exit is possible. There are cameras in the hallways. The rooms are for 4 students (two double-decker beds). (two double-decker beds), own shower. Internet in the entire building, automatically turns off at night. The common area (kitchen - dining room - game room) is open for children, unlimited access to food (tea, hot chocolate, croissants, muffins, toast, cereal, milk, water, juice), breakfast is served there. The post houseparents in the common play area is open 24 hours a day. There is a direct connection between the post and the nurse and the school: if a child is under the care of a nurse, the residence staff, under her instructions and in coordination with the group leader, makes rounds, takes the temperature, and gives out medications. The residence has a free laundry service. The level of care for the child is extremely high.

Breakfast in the residence is cereal, milk, croissants, muffins, and toast. Lunches and dinners - in the college cafeteria (10 min walk) - excellent: soup, 3 hot dishes, snacks, desserts. During excursions - packed lunches (sandwich, mandarin, chips, kitkat, water).

For Intensive course students we organise one excursion a week (Wednesday) to Canterbury attractions (Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury Storybook Interactive Museum, St. Augustine's Abbey, River Stour drive), one full-day excursion on Saturdays (London, Cambridge, Brighton). It is also possible to book a Sunday excursion for a fee (London, Windsor, Cambridge, Oxford).

Evening activities: Disco (night club rented), themed events (International Night, Stafford House Olympics, Britsh night, Dog Show, Fashion Show), sports (volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton; rent the sports facilities of Kent Cricket Club). At our request we had a cricket lesson. The organization of the activities was at an extremely high level.

The class was held at CATS College (56, New Dover Road). It was a 15 min walk from the school to the town center and a 10 min walk to the residence.
