Program description and what is included

The language course at the camp is 15 hours or 20 lessons per week. On arrival children take an entrance test to find out their language level. This is done to ensure that everyone is correctly allocated to the correct study groups. There are modernly equipped classrooms and a library for lessons. At the lessons teachers focus on language and linguistic skills with a compulsory cultural component. Twice a week a conversation club is held. All levels are available.

Description

Chester is a very modern university but it has a history dating back to 1839. The eclectic mix of modern and historical buildings combine to create an attractive campus, set in a city that was founded as a Roman fort 2000 years ago with the name Deva Vitrix. It is now becoming a must see European destination.

Kids combine studies with a cultural and leisure programme. You can choose from a lot of sporting activities: dancing, football, tennis or swimming. For those who do not like sports there are workshops in dance, photography, drama and media journalism. Excursions include visits to ancient structures, the amphitheatre, the Beatles museum and the Chester archaeological site. The weekend includes a tram ride and a trip to Manchester. In the evening there are quizzes, movies, discos and sports. 

Children are accommodated in a residence or host family. The residential campus is in a short walk from the school. There is a common kitchen, living room and laundry facilities. The rooms are single and comfortable and are cleaned once a week. Host families are selected by an independent organisation, Deva English, and are a 30-40 minute drive from the school. Meals are provided three times a day.
