Program description and what is included

Welcome to our General English Course!

Our course is designed to help you improve your language skills, with lessons taking place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 11:45. Each morning, you'll participate in three lessons focused on different areas of language learning: grammar and language work, reading and listening, or communicative activities and speaking practice. Our goal is to provide you with the vocabulary and grammar necessary for effective communication, with a particular emphasis on enhancing your speaking and listening skills. Through our course, we aim to strengthen your communication abilities and help you overcome any speaking inhibitions you may have.

We cater to all levels of proficiency, including Elementary (A1), Pre-Intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper intermediate (B2), and Advanced (C1). The course duration is a minimum of one week.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH COURSE

available as a supplement

The Intensive Course consists of the General English Course plus an additional lesson per day (11:45 -12:30) which focuses on a fourth area of language learning: Project-based lesson which emphasis on writing skills.

Residence

Residence Live and socialise with your fellow students from many different countries on campus! We use several residential houses at Birks Grange on the Streatham campus. You can either stay in standard single rooms with shared toilet and shower facilities as well as in en-suite single rooms.

Our supervisors live in the Residence and are available for any inquiries. On-campus a launderette with coin-operated washing and drying machines help to ensure that your stay is comfortable.

You’ll get full board accommodation that includes breakfast, warm lunch and dinner. All meals are taken in the self-service school refectory. We cater for vegetarians and special diets e.g. gluten free, lactose free and halal. Please advise at least 14 days prior arrival about any special diet.

Our Supervision Concept Your safety and welfare are very important to us, therefore our supervision concept for students in our Summer Language Holidays Programme is based on a compulsory activity programme during afternoons and evenings seven days a week. The cornerstone of this programme are the daily „Time to Talk“ meetings.

Our staff ratio on campus for the age group 13-17 years is 1:15, however supervision groups during activities on or off campus will have different ratios of up 25 students for 13-17 years old depending on the situation.
