EC Los Angeles Language School is just a 5-minute walk from Santa Monica Beach, Southern California's longest stretch of coastline with 340 days of sunshine a year, and a two-minute walk from the famous Third Street Promenade. Third Street Promenade is home to a large number of cafes, restaurants, nightclubs and clothing chains. Street performers such as singers, musicians, dancers, clowns and more perform along the promenade.
Los Angeles is the film capital of the world and 'Hollywood' is a major symbol of the city. The first thing you should see when you visit the City of Angels is the Walk of Stars and the Walk of Fame. The museums of particular interest are Madame Tussauds and the Natural History Museum. Another place you could spend a whole day visiting is Universal Studios. Many kilometres of sandy beaches with relentless ocean waves make Los Angeles a surfing paradise. There are nearly 40 institutions of higher learning offering prestigious education in the city.
EC Los Angeles is accredited by the leading associations ALTO and ENGLISH USA. The centre is equipped with modern classrooms with interactive whiteboards and computer rooms. Free wireless internet access is available to students. Students can relax in the student lounge. Students study in international groups with a maximum capacity of 15 students. The average number of students in a group is 12. Free study materials are provided to students. At the end of the course, a certificate is issued. There is also a study assistance service available, which is free for students enrolled for more than 24 weeks. You will be told how to apply for admission to any North American institution.
Students can also use EC Online, a personal study assistant that allows them to keep track of their progress. Through EC Online, students can take a test to determine their starting level, track their progress, access online materials and interact with teachers after school hours. The school uses the highly regarded Net Promoter Score (NPS) system to continually receive feedback from its students and improve its level of service.
Students can choose to stay in apartment hotels or with host families in 2-bed or 1-bed rooms. The location of the accommodation varies from a 10-minute walk to 1 hour by public transport. Meals are not included for students staying in the aparthotel. If staying with a family, breakfast or breakfast and dinner are provided.
There are free workshops and activities at the school. Free language workshops include 'Study Rules' and 'Latest News'. The free activities may include picnics, carnival evenings, beach football and table tennis. The programme can be completed by attending a game of the LA Dodgers baseball team, yoga classes and roller skating on the Promenade. Students will have the opportunity to visit some of the brightest and most unforgettable destinations such as Hollywood, Disneyland, Universal Studios and Las Vegas.
